Work by several artists with ties to the UW–Madison Art Department is featured in an exhibition titled, “Through a Glass, Darkly,” at the Delaware Contemporary art space in Wilmington.
The exhibition, which runs through Dec. 31, includes new and recent works by artists working with glass and glass-related materials and processes. A description notes that these works expose the material’s “dual nature” and “will engage the historical promise and power of the material to reveal and to bring clarity, while challenging viewers to acknowledge an inherent interconnectedness between enhancement and distortion.”
Associate Professor Helen Lee, who leads UW–Madison’s Glass Lab, is one of four anchor artists included in the show. Her work is currently featured in galleries around the world, and focuses primarily on the morphological nature of language and identity.
