Experience a wide range of artistic glass masterpieces all summer long.

Christopher Ries is showcasing 18 of his best glass pieces at Dorflinger Factory Museum and Arts Center, Elizabeth Street and Route 6, White Mills, through Monday, Sept. 3, and will lecture there about glass and light on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m.

“The Dorflinger Museum has an amazing collection of glass pieces, and there is a lot of history to be learned,” the Eaton Twp. resident said. “My work contrasts with the pieces in the museum with the old and the new.”

Growing up in central Ohio, Ries always knew he wanted to be an artist. He went from a love of painting to a passion for glass sculpting and eventually opened his own glass facility at Ohio State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art in 1975 and later a master’s degree in fine art from University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1978.
