The Retouched series of pieces are inspired by ornate mirror frames, tools used for beautification, faceted gems, and the human body. Jill Baker Gower brings attention to our obsession with the pursuit of physical perfection through the use of mirrors that distort or block the viewer’s reflection. Gower is an artist, metalsmith, and educator who resides in New Jersey, where she is an Associate Professor of Art at Rowan University.
