Douglas RosenbergThe Art Department is full of great energy these days. We are building a new computer lab, opening new teaching spaces for students to learn the most cutting edge technologies, hiring new faculty and looking toward a bright and sustainable future.

This is very exciting and we are currently exploring the feasibility of expanding the Art Lofts building and creating a new “front door” and higher visibility for the Art Department. Your support of the Department of Art Fund allows us to invest in exciting new opportunities, meet unforeseen challenges and fund critical needs as they arise, and devote the necessary resources to long-term priorities that will ensure the strength of the Department for generations. With your help, our programs are highly ranked nationally and numbers are climbing! The Art Department student enrollment has grown from 1,601 undergraduates in the Fall 2014 to 2,250 undergraduates in the Fall of 2017. Our Graduate program is thriving and our faculty are doing amazing things, winning awards and exhibiting internationally.

I sincerely hope that you will consider making a gift to the Department’s annual fund as part of the campaign. Please feel free to reach out to director of development Meg Cummings (meghan.cummings@supportuw.org or 608.308.5504) should you have questions about making a gift.

Thank you for all that you do for the University and the Art Department. Your ongoing support will help to prepare the next generation of Badger artists, scholars, and leaders.

Very best,
Douglas Rosenberg
