Reception: Tuesday, April 8, 5-7pm

Location: Art Lofts Common Space Gallery, 111 N Frances St, Madison, WI

Spectra erupts from the unfiltered creative impulses of First Wave scholars, who navigate the world with a keen understanding of self, vision, and dedication. Forged through their individual art practices, this exhibition is an ode to students and their resilience. Each work is a pursuit of purpose—ranging from evocative photographs exploring grief to clay-constructed pieces investigating the body and intimate illustrations reimagining our futures. The exhibition invites viewers to step inside each artist’s studio and witness their creative process. Under the curatorial guidance of Tehan Ketema, OMAI and Art Department inaugural First Wave Arts and Education Post Doctoral Fellow, their diverse voices converge to create Spectra, the 2nd annual Line Breaks Gallery Exhibition.
