UW–Madison is opening its doors wide, inviting everyone to a 175th Anniversary Community Open House. On deck: family-friendly fun, interactive science and art activities, Bucky Badger and much more—all on campus, all open to the public and all free, even the 175 S’more Years ice cream.

The Metalsmithing Demonstration will take place in the UW-Madison Art Department’s Art Metals studio, where various techniques and aspects of metalsmithing will be demonstrated. Heating metal until it is malleable, soldering with torches, how a flat piece of metal is sized for a ring, and other processes will be highlighted. Demonstrations will be an hour long and questions are encouraged.
