February 11 – March 4

Reception: February 11, 6-9pm

Location: Arts and Literature Lab, 2021 Winnebago Street, Madison WI

Description: This exhibition explores the tension between the radically empathetic practice of mothering and the normative and sentimental construct of motherhood. Materials and gestures that originate in the domestic realm are combined with textures that evoke the pliable and permeable nature of the human body. Haller’s work makes room for affective ambivalence as it aims to unsettle set notions of what it means to mother.
