The UW–Madison Art Department will host its annual Fall Open House on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 12 to 5 p.m. in both the Humanities Building and Art Lofts.
The event is free and open to current and prospective students and the public. Visitors can tour classrooms and studio labs, view demonstrations in various art areas, and meet Master of Fine Arts students in their open studios.
From 12 to 3 p.m., attendees can take a self-guided tour (map provided) to view classrooms and art studio labs. Demonstrations will be held across several art disciplines, and MFA graduate students will welcome visitors into their open studios in both the Humanities Building and the Art Lofts.
From 1 to 3 p.m., prospective students interested in pursuing a BS–Art, BS–Art: Graphic Design, BFA–Art, BFA–Art: Graphic Design, or BS–Art Education are invited to join a guided tour led by the department’s academic advisor. The tour includes classroom and studio visits and provides an overview of degree programs, course offerings, and opportunities available to art students at UW–Madison. Space is limited and registration is required.
From 3 to 5 p.m., the Art Lofts Gallery will host an exhibition featuring undergraduate artwork. Student organizations affiliated with the Art Department, as well as local Madison art organizations, will share information and host hands-on activities. A reception with light refreshments will conclude the day’s events.
