Honors include the Ladislav Sutnar Prize for Lifetime Achievement in Design, Center for Book Arts Honoree, the Brendan Gill Prize, a Special Recognition Award from the Society of Typographic Arts, the International Book Award for Best New Fiction, the IPPY Outstanding Book of the Year Award, three AIGA Book Awards, two Type Directors Club awards, two Design Incubation Awards, the Innovative Use of Archives Award, a Media That Matters Award; Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and New York Foundation for the Arts; and grants from the Rockefeller, Ford, Greenwall, and Furthermore Foundations.
