Michael Boonstra examines landscape, time, place, and scale through a creative process that continually shifts between drawing, photography, installation, and sculpture. Recent awards include a Career Opportunity Grant from the Oregon Arts Commission, project funding from the Ford Family Foundation, and Ford Family Foundation sponsored residencies at Playa and the Djerassi Resident Artist Program. Boonstra has had recent solo exhibitions at Duplex in Portland, the A.N. Bush Gallery in Salem, and Fairbanks Gallery at Oregon State University. He has created site-specific projects in Michigan, California, and at numerous sites throughout the Pacific Northwest. Boonstra received his BFA from the University of Michigan and his MFA from the University of Oregon. He currently teaches at Oregon State University. Find out more at: michaelboonstra.com
