Art Education
The Art Education program at UW-Madison offers students the chance to explore their passion for teaching art in a hands-on, project-based environment where they benefit from small class sizes and personalized attention, gaining valuable experience working with children and adolescents through field placements each semester. In four years, students earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a K–12 Wisconsin teaching license, while learning from world-renowned faculty in studio art, art history, educational psychology, and curriculum instruction courses. As part of a Big Ten university, students have access to unique interdisciplinary resources, including the Distinguished Lecture Series, music and film festivals, and study abroad opportunities. Additionally, the program connects students to Madison’s vibrant arts community through various internships, jobs, and volunteer opportunities.
