The department - dedicated to education, research and service in the visual arts - has long been a national leader. We have pioneered glass as a fine art. Our printmaking program was ranked #2 in the nation, our metals program was ranked #3 and sculpture was ranked #15, according to U.S. News and World Report. The internationally recognized faculty and staff of professional artists, designers and art educators strive to provide a righ, inspiring environment to prepare students for careers in a broad array of creative fields. The department's graduates hold leadership positions in the visual arts, art/design education, and arts administration in Wisconsin and beyond.
