Her artwork includes drawing, ceramics, and installation. For the past several years she has been researching the social and cultural history of tea drinking and teaware. In 1995 she lectured and participated in the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women Non-Governmental Forum in Beijing, China. Recently, she has been an artist-in-residence at Tandem Press in Madison, Wisconsin, and at the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois. Her work has been included in exhibits at the Dorothy Weiss Gallery, San Francisco, the Folk and Craft Museum, Los Angeles, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC, and the Living Art Museum in Reykjavik, Iceland. Scheer is included in the Encyclopedia of North American Woman Artists, Garland Publications, New York, 1994, and The History of American Ceramics, Abrams, New York, 1988.
